My upline, Julie, challenged me to do a catalog case from the new catalog and this is what I came up with. I'm still waiting on my new In Color ribbons to arrive...so I thought I'd try dying my own ribbon to match for this card.
Stamps: Flight of the Butterfly
Paper: Kiwi Kiss textured, Pacific Point, Tangerine Tango, Baja Breeze & Whisper White CS
Ink: Pacific Point, Baja Breeze & Tangerine Tango classic ink
Other: Earth Elements brads, paper piercer, White Taffeta ribbon (dyed with Pacific Point), sponge, stampin' dimensionals
See page 97 for the catalog sample. I kept the layout the same, but used the larger butterfly and a different color combination.
Dying Ribbon Tutorial
First, cut the Whisper White taffeta ribbon (this can be done to grosgrain ribbon also) to size for your project and pick a classic ink color. I chose Pacific Point for this one.
Next, place the ribbon on top of the open ink pad.
Then, smoosh the ribbon using a sponge into the ink pad until desired color emerges.
Lastly, lay flat to dry.

Stacey...Very cute card. I like the idea of a catalog challenge. Might have to try it myself!!
great way to color ribbon!
Cute card. Thanks for the great ribbon tutorial. Didn't think about using the ink pads!
Too funny!! I just dyed a bunch of this ribbon for my stamp clubs this month. I really like how they turned out and sold several spools of ribbon so they can dye their ribbon any color. Your card is great too!!!!
