Laughter

Good morning and happy Monday! It's time for a fun challenge over at The Pink Elephant, TPE 164: Use Pattern Paper.
My card was also inspired by The Shabby Tea Room #129: Summer Cottage, with this gorgeous photo inspiration! The colors I used were Regal Rose, Old Olive, Chocolate Chip, Crumb Cake & White...love the pop of pink...a great chance to use some of my paper stash!
The sketch, RS#27, over at Retro Sketches was a goodie this week, too! This awesome sketch allowed me to use those fun flags and label die cut, along with some ribbon, button, and stick pins.
I also submitted this card to a new challenge, Simple Salutations: Anything Goes over at MFP Speedy Tv. Check it out! Thanks for stopping by the stage!

To show my appreciation as well, I made a gift set for my kiddos' teachers....nothing like waiting until the last minute! I'm pleased with the result...clean & simple was my motto for these:)

Curtain Call Color Challenge {ACT 26} & GIVEAWAY

This posting will remain at the top of my blog page until Friday night. Please scroll down to view newer posts.

I found this inspiration room photo called Yellow at Table Tonic, and I knew it would stir some creativity with it's chic & clean look. I've always loved the color yellow and I'm drawn to using it in many of my color combos! In fact, yellow was my very favorite color when I was a little girl...my bedroom was decorated in yellow Holly Hobby (yes, back in the 70's). Anyway, back to the challenge...the colors of choice are Whisper White, Basic Gray, Going Gray & Crushed Curry.

To participate in the Curtain Call Color Challenge: Act 26...

1. Create a papercrafted (card, scrapbook page, or 3D) project using these colors or similar shades.
2. Post it on your blog or other public gallery (Splitcoaststampers, Paper Craft Planet, Stampin' Addicts, etc.) using the keywords Curtain Call 26 and make sure to include a link back here to the challenge.
3. Enter your name and the direct link to your project in the Mr. Linky box below.

Please note the new deadline will be Friday night: You have until Friday, April 23rd before midnight (CST) to enter your Curtain Call Color Challenge: Act 26 project.

Chic "On the Go" Giveaway

This little bundle of "on the go" items will be sent to a randomly chosen Curtain Call Color Challenge: Act 26. There is a coordinating 5 X 7 Journal, a set of 12 mini notecards, and a package of facial tissues in this little chic "on the go" giveaway...a perfect trio to keep in the car or in your totebag.

Elements of Style Sneak Peek

The Summer Mini Catalog will soon be available (May 1st), so I thought I'd give you another little sneak peek. The sentiment and flourish image that are both stamped on the designer paper are from the Elements of Style stamp set. The borders are not punched ones, which you might think...they are pieces that were trimmed from the top of a Fancy Favor XL Bigz die cut.

Stamps: Elements of Style
Paper: Crushed Curry, Going Gray, Basic Gray CS, Razzleberry Lemonade DSP
Ink: Basic Gray
Other: Pretties Kit, Big Shot, Fancy Favor XL Bigz Die

Moments

How gorgeous is this flourish image with the Hummingbird? This new stamp set called Elements of Style is out of the Summer Mini Catalog which will be available to customers on May 1st! The flourish image was inked up in Barely Banana and then rolled in Sahara Sand...bye-bye Barely Banana (retiring this summer), but hello Crumb Cake which is a new kraft color that will be offered this summer in the 2010-2011 Idea Book & Catalog...woohoo!

I thought this was the perfect stamp set to showcase in the Shabby Tea Room's Embrace White Challenge #4...vintage style is difficult for me, but I'm working on it. I typically love eye-popping color and clean lines and I am trying to grow in my creativity:)

The Bonus Sketch to go along with Laura's #49 over at 2 Sketches 4 You this week was just right for this mostly white display.

The pretties flowers were stacked together over the bow with a half-backed pearl from the Pretties Kit as the flower center....gotta love pretties! Pretties with the Bella Bleu Designer Series Paper were made for each other, I think:)

Enjoy your day, folks! Go get crafty...

Stamps: Elements of Style
Paper: White Naturals, Whisper White, Kraft CS, Bella Bleu DSP
Ink: Barely Banana, Sahara Sand
Other: Kraft Taffeta Ribbon, Pretties Kit, Corner Rounder, other punch (non-SU)
