father

Father's Day cards are very rewarding to make...maybe because I only make them once a year, or because I rarely make masculine themed cards. Two Father's Day cards down, one to go...so, stay tuned!

I combined three challenges for this Father's Day card...Mercy's Tuesday Sketch Challenge #77, Arielle's ColourQ Challenge #36 using Sage Shadow, Chocolate Chip, Pumpkin Pie, So Saffron, and Whisper White...and The Shabby Tea Room Theme Challenge: Week 13, Just for Dad.

Distressing was the key element to my card today...had to get that rugged, manly look! I used the Cutter Kit to rough up the edges of a few layers and applied some Crumb Cake ink directly to the distressed edges. The Vintage Brads are a perfect touch of metal for a manly card, too, along with the Linen Thread...the ribbon, maybe not so manly...but, it wouldn't be a 'Stacey Creation' without ribbon (smile:)

Go DE-stress and do a little distressing with your paper this week to make a rough and tough manly card! I'm off to the eye doctor hoping contact lenses will work for me again...(long story.)
Happy Hump Day!

Oh Stacey - as usual this is simply gorgeous... can that be said of a manly card? How 'bout ruggedly handsome? And your ribbon is perfectly fine for a man - now if it were pink & tied in a bow probably not! I've really missed your challenges lately (I've actually been missing stamping in general ;D) but your challenge is on my short list of things to do this week! Thank you so much for playing along with the colourQ!!! I always LOVE visiting you!
