Congratulations

I made this card for Noah's second grade teacher, Mr. Davis, who's wife just had a new baby boy. I wanted to create a non-traditional baby card, so I looked to the Urban Oasis Designer Series Paper for somewhat of a retro look. I love this cute boat image in the Summer Fun stamp set, and I have to admit that I'm a little disappointed that this cute set will be retiring on July 1st. Get it while you still can! In fact, there are several retiring products on this card including the Summer Fun stamp set, Urban Oasis Designer Series Paper, Baja Breeze cardstock & ink, Kiwi Kiss ink, Baja Breeze Striped rGrosgrain. To see the entire list of retiring products and availability, click here! Shop early at my website for some great deals!

Jewelry Color Inspiration #21

Anyone who knows me also knows that have an obsession for stamping and for JEWELRY! I enjoy participating in other stamping challenges and want to share the fun by offering my own weekly Jewelry Color Inspiration challenge. The challenge will be posted each Sunday and will include a jewelry photo along with the link to the website where I found it.

If you want to play along, simply make a paper project (card, scrapbook page, or 3D item) that includes the colors indicated with the jewelry piece. (If you don't have the exact colors, just use ones that are similar:) Then, submit your creation to me by Saturday, Jan. 31st at 11:59 P.M. using the Mr. Linky box at the end of this posting. You may also wish to post your photo at Splitcoaststampers.com using the keyword JCI.

Those of you who participate in the challenge will receive recognition the following Sunday...so what are you waiting for...join the fun! I can't wait to see what you come up with!

When I first saw this necklace, Satsuma, I knew that it was definately the jewelry pick for this week's Jewelry Color Inspiration #21. I couldn't resist the bold color and fun texture of the spirals and glass beads together! Satsuma is a piece from Licia Beads and handmade by a designer from Washington state.

To inspire you further, here's a simple card that I whipped up with some scraps of designer series paper and several different circle punches. Sometimes, I find these simple layouts refreshing with few layers very refreshing:)

Stamps: Congrats
Paper: Baja Breeze CS, various DSP
Ink: Baja Breeze
Other: Various Circle Punches, Button Bouquet, Linen Thread, Mini Glue Dots

I was finally able to add the Mr. Linky widgit to my blog! Yay! Thanks for the help, Karen! There were a few projects posted before I added Mr. Linky, so I added the first few names/urls for them:)
