Distressed Watercolor Trio
Rachel's Cupcake Inspiration Challenge #57 was the color inspiration for my card today. I love these colors...coral, celery & white...gorgeous:)
I'm always in awe of papercrafters who get the distressed look 'just right.' Here's my attempt at distressing...a little around the dsp panel and at the top of the bottom border. The Watercolor Trio stamp set in the new Summer Mini Catalog lends itself to a vintage/aged project, and it's one of the easiest sets I've ever stamped with...so forgiving. Oh, did you notice that I added a doodled body and antennae with marker? I picked up this lace at a craft store last night and think it totally works with the distressed edges...and you gotta love those trinket pins pushed through the celery ribbon!
Stamps: Watercolor Trio
Paper: Cameo Coral, Certainly Celery, Whisper White CS, Cottage Wall & Sweet Pea Specialty DSP
Ink: Chocolate Chip, Cameo Coral, Old Olive, Always Artichoke & Certainly Celery Stampin' Write Markers
Other: Scallop Edge Punch, Cutter Kit, 1/4" Certainly Celery Grosgrain, Sticky Strip, trinket pins, lace

So pretty! Thanks for playing along this week!
What a lovely card! I totally love that bottom row of lace that really captures the feeling of the cupcake icing!
p.s. Congrats on your new classroom iMacs! That is awesome! You are going to love yours too! We have Macs at home and there's no comparison! And yes, I am loving my SmartBoard! It does so many things and the kids are so engaged. I can't imagine teaching without one now!
