Curtain Call Color Challenge {ACT 40} Show Stoppers

You all made my week so much BRIGHTER! Thank you! I was under the weather most of the week with a fever, cough, and an achy neck and back. The good news is that I'm feeling much better and ready to share the Show Stoppers, then gear up for a new Curtain Call tonight!

Our LEAD for this week's Curtain Call Color Challenge: {ACT 40} is Colleen Begley at Colleen's Creative Corner. I love the use of black DSP on this card with hints of color...just made me ooooh and aaaaw!

The Top 5 Show Stoppers for Curtain Call Color Challenge {ACT 40} are...

Lynn Put at The Queen's Scene

Monika Davis at M.A.D. Stamper

Arielle Gordon at Snappy Stampin' with Arielle

Christina MacLaren at Seaglass & Sentiments

and Erica Cerwin at Pink Buckaroo Designs.

Enjoy your badges, girls! Thanks again to all of the Curtain Call participants this week! See you all back here at midnight for a calm and cool color palette for Curtain Call Color Challenge {ACT 41} AND our August Guest Designer announcement!

Take Note ~ Just Because Convention Swap

Here is another swap design that I made for Stampin' Up! Convention. I used the Notable Ornate stamp set along with the Love Letter Designer Series Paper...a gorgeous combination! On my prototype, I stamped the bird image in Black Stazon, but on my swaps, I stepped it up a notch and used Black Embossing Powder...much better, but didn't take a picture of it, so you'll just have to imagine that black glossy finish of the bird with a little added color spritzing from the Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker.

Thanks for stopping by! I'm hoping to have some new projects soon...feeling better after some type of respiratory "bug" set in earlier this week. Who knew you could get sick in the summer? aarggghhh!

Stamps: Notably Ornate
Paper: Basic Black, Very Vanilla CS, Love Letter DSP
Ink: Black Stazon
Other: Wide Oval Punch, Very Vanilla Satin ribbon, Neutrals Designer Buttons, Linen Thread, Scallop Ribbon Border Punch

Style Beautiful ~ Convention Swap Card

For this swap card, I inked up one of the damask images from Style Beautiful in Chocolate Chip Craft ink, then heat embossed it using the Irridescent Ice embossing powder. The Crumb Cake card base was spritzed with some Log Cabin Smooch Spritzer and the image panel of DSP was spritzed with Chocolate Chip Stampin' Write Marker. The Scallop Ribbon Border Punch was adhered between the two pieces of Lap of Luxury then wrapped and tied with some yummy Concord Crush Poly Twill ribbon.

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great weekend!

Life is Beautiful ~ CCMC109

Happy Thursday, peeps! It's time for a beautiful inspiration challenge over at Create with Connie & Mary Thursday Challenge!

I was excited to use a few new Stampin' Up! products on my card, the Presto Prints Specialty Designer Series Paper, Paper Flowers and the gorgeous Style Beautiful stamp set. The DSP is so cool, it is a white cardstock that has embossed images on it. Once you add ink, the images just POP! I ran my brayer along the paper using Bashful Blue and finally spritzed some Smooch Spritz over the top.

Head on over to join us for the CCMC109!

Paper: So Saffron, Bashful Blue CS, Presto Patterns DSP

My Curtain Call Convention Swap & PRIZE winner

Back from Convention! The Exclusive Curtain Call Convention Swap was so much fun! It was great to meet some of these talented and sweet gals in person:) Thanks, ladies, for participating in the swap and showcasing your BEST work with us! Whether you swapped by mail or in person, your swaps are my very favorite that I received at Convention:) Thanks again!

For my swap card, I chose a Melon Mambo card base that includes an Elegant Lines embossed Crumb Cake panel at the bottom, a Baja Breeze textured panel in the middle with a piece of Elegant Soiree DSP and punched Chocolate Chip border. The Two Tags Bigz Die was used as the focal panel, stamped with an image and sentiment from the Timeless Treasures stamp set, then tied off with some Early Expresso Taffeta ribbon and an Antique brad center on the bow.

Lou was the lucky winner of a dozen of cards! Congrats, Lou!

Thanks again, girls! I had a blast!

Stamps: Timeless Treasures
Paper: Melon Mambo, Crumb Cake, Baja Breeze, Chocolate Chip, Whisper White CS, Elegant Soiree DSP
Ink: Chocolate Chip Craft
Other: Heat Tool, Clear Embossing Powder, Powder Pal, Embossing Buddy, Big Shot, Two Tags Bigz Die, Elegant Lines Impressions Folder, Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border Punch, Early Expresso Taffeta, Antique Brads, Mini Glue Dots, Stampin' Dimensionals, Snail Adhesive

Artisan Award Entry #10 ~ Flower Topiary

For the final Artisan Award entry I created a flower topiary with loads of different flower die cuts, buttons, and linen thread bows. I straight-pinned the flowers onto a foam circle, attached it to a small dowel rod. The rod was inserted into another piece of foam within the plastic pot.

I stitched some fabric to cover the bottom portion of the topiary, then wrapped some yummy Old Olive Striped Grosgrain around the base of the pot and just under the flower top.

The Artisan Award entries were a TON of work and required a lot of supplies...but, the most disappointing part about not winning the award is that my projects will never be returned to me. Congrats to those who received the Artisan Award...it is well deserved!

Paper: variety of DSP
Other: Old Olive Striped Grosgrain, lots of flower dies and buttons, linen thread, sewing machine, fabric & thread
