Flower Folds Friendship

I used the sketch, CPS123, over at Card Positioning Systems for the layout of my card, which gave me a nice size panel to use this awesome new Flower Folds Bigz XL Die and my Big Shot. The color and floral theme came from Libby's Little Addiction blog and her From Courtney's Closet Challenge #48 (Courtney's Play Date, Mattea).

Congrats on Your Big News!

I'm giving this card to a gal that shared news with me that she's expecting. It's always so exciting to hear this happy news! I couldn't wait to use my new Nursery Necessities stamp set that I earned free last month for promoting to Manager with Stampin' Up! How stinkin' cute is this sweet elephant? I used the Fall-To Layout #49 for my sketch inspiration...they always have the best layouts to get you started...and I paired the FTL49 with the Color Challenge #226 over at Splitcoaststampers.

Bark, Bark, Bark!

The Fall-To Layout #47 at Clean & Simple Stamping blog was the inspiration for my layout of this card! The Limited Supplies Challenge, LSC226, over at Splitcoaststampers was a fun one today. It's called Chinese Take Out that gave us several choices on a "menu" to pick from. I chose to use a non-floral nature image, reds/blues, and brads for my challenge card. It was quite a challenge for me to exclude ribbon and floral images/paper on my creation...but it is a darling kiddo card, don't you think?

Scalloped Medallion Birthday

Ok, I had to add a second layer of the scalloped medallion in Apricot Appeal! Much better!



I have been wanting to try the scalloped medallion technique, especially after seeing some of Nancy Riley's fabulous creations with it. The Pink Elepant Sketch Challenge #20 has a nice focal in the center of the sketch, so instead of a circle, I thought I'd take a stab at the scalloped medallion. I've had my eye on Karen's Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge #23 since Sunday...and finally felt up to the challenge! The Color Challenge #224 over at Splitcoaststampers helped to get me started, too! This color combination of Pacific Point, Tangerine Tango & Summer Sun SCREAMS summer to me..so my Summer Fun stamp set was the only choice. I love that the small images in this set fit perfectly inside the tiny squares for Karen's sketch!

Sneak Peek ~ Kind & Caring Thoughts

Dawn McVey's Raspberry Suite Color Challenge #9 is up and running...and it's a beauty! I used Basic Black, Very Vanilla & Certainly Celery on my card. For a layout inspiration, I hopped on over to Karen Giron's Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge #22. For the focal image in the larger scalloped circle I stamped the flower in Certainly Celery once and then again without re-inking the second time...love this technique called "Stamping Off."

I Stink You're Sweet

After seeing Nancy's fabulous card, I knew I had to get cracking on the Taylored Expressions Cupcake Challenge #72. I also came across a new color challenge...Kelly Jo has a fun Color Chef Challenge #10 with Black, White, and any Choice Color. For my card, I used Kiwi Kiss as the choice color. To get the half circle, I used the Circle Scissor Plus, which I am determined to use MORE! The Rockabilly Specialty Designer Series Paper makes it easy to put a card like this together...so many coordinating patterns and colors. I colored the cute little skunk in with my Blender Pen and Going Gray ink.

My Fabulous Friend ~ Distressed Flowers

Whew! I tried to use as many challenges as I could find today for this card. First of all, I have been wanting to create some of these distressed flowers for some time, especially since Dawn McVey posted a tutorial on how to make them. The Ways To Use It challenge, WT222, over at Splitcoaststampers had a similar tutorial for distressed flowers using a crinkled paper technique. For the color inspiration, I used The Pink Elephant Challenge that posted the cover of Better Homes & Gardens...plus when I headed over to Libby's Little Addiction, Courtney's outfit had these colors, too! I love the relaxing feel that the blues and greens exhibit, don't you? Kazan's Sketch 28 was my layout inspiration for the card. I think it all came together nicely...and I'll definately be making more of these fun distressed flowers in different color combinations. Won't you have a try?
