{friend to friend} ~ JAI 4 & 2S4Y 45

I combined two fabulous challenges for my card today...Just Add Ink #4 Color Challenge using More Mustard, Rose Red, Sage Shadow & Kraft and Laura's Sketch #45 at 2 Sketches 4 You.

As you can see, I flipped Laura's sketch and created this all-occasion card just for that special friend. I must admit that I struggled a little with the color combination...so, I dug through some retired DSP and found some with More Mustard and Rose Red...and just went with it. The Butterfly Sizzlet just arrived in the mail yesterday and kept calling my name...isn't the little butterfly super cute? I love it...and Hannah was able to keep the other tiny butterflies that were punched at the same time:)

Stamps: Kind & Caring Thoughts, Teeny Tiny Wishes (sentiment)
Paper: Kraft, More Mustard, Very Vanilla CS, variety of retired DSP
Ink: Sage Shadow, Basic Black
Other: Big Shot, Butterflies Sizzlet, Sage Shadow 1/4" Grosgrain, Scallop Edge Punch, Fresh Favorites II buttons, Linen Thread, Rich Regals Buttons, Mini Glue Dots

Curtain Call Color Challenge: Act 10

Ready to celebrate?

It will soon be time to celebrate and ring in the new year with some yummy cocktails. Here's a picture from STIR that caught my eye...a beautiful pink and red drink called the Pelo De Perro is said to have sweet, salty and tangy flavors woven through silky grapefruit foam...mmm!

To play along in the Curtain Call Color Challenge: Act 10, simply create a papercrafted project using these colors (or similar shades), post it on your blog or other public gallery (Splitcoaststampers, Paper Craft Planet, etc.) using the keywords Curtain Call, link your posting back here, and then come back to enter your name and URL in the Mr. Linky box. You have until Sunday, January 3rd at noon (CST) to enter your Curtain Call Color Challenge: Act 10 project.

Those who are chosen as Show Stoppers will receive this award to post on their blog and share the exciting news! I will be picking more than one Show Stopper for each Curtain Call Color Challenge depending on the number of entries there are. There will be one award given out for every ten Curtain Call Color Challenge entries!

Here's my Best Wishes for the New Year creation:

For my card, I used a variety of designer series papers stacked on the main panel, tied together with some ribbon and topped with a red button. A simple layout with a big splash of color is my fav:)

Feel Better Soon

Dawn McVey has a new color challenge that's up and running! The Raspberry Suite Color Challenge #13 includes Moss, White, Red & Berry. I used the Stampin' Up! colors Certainly Celery with a smidge of Old Olive on the stems, Whisper White, Real Red & Cameo Coral. To ink up the flowers from the Kind & Caring Thoughts hostess set, I used the Stampin' Write markers to color the separate parts on the rubber stamp as desired. The double bow and red button are wrapped with Natural Hemp Twine...got this cool idea from Dawn herself:) Thanks, Dawn, for your amazing tips and ideas to stretch our creativity!

Sneak Peek ~ Kind & Caring Thoughts

Dawn McVey's Raspberry Suite Color Challenge #9 is up and running...and it's a beauty! I used Basic Black, Very Vanilla & Certainly Celery on my card. For a layout inspiration, I hopped on over to Karen Giron's Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge #22. For the focal image in the larger scalloped circle I stamped the flower in Certainly Celery once and then again without re-inking the second time...love this technique called "Stamping Off."
