Uniko Studio September Challenge - Washi Tape

There's a new challenge up and running over at Uniko Studio!  This month, we challenge you to use WASHI TAPE!  Head on over to see what the other Uniko Studio girls whipped up using some Washi Tape!

I used a few of my favorite stamps and dies from Uniko Studio, Pure Florals: Chrysanthemum Stamps and Designer Dies, and Graphic Flower Designer Dies!

The Sketchbook Saturday #105 and Cupcake Inspirations Challegne #228 provided just the right layout and color scheme to show off some Uniko Studio and WASHI TAPE!  The Seize the Birthday challenge is all about Toppings and Really Reasonable Ribbon: Shabby Chic & Ribbon challenge is up and running, too!

I had to steal this image from my friend, Jen Mitchell!  It's perfect, don't you think?

To create the flower, I die cut the Graphic Flower die with white cardstock and used the negative to display Washi tape inside.  The leaves were die cut with Pure Florals: Chrysanthemum dies, then stamped, adhered...and embellished with ribbon, button and twine!

Thanks so much for stopping by the stage!

Have a Lovely Day - STB #20

Loving the new sketch, STB #20, over at Seize the Birthday today!  Head on over and see what the other talented gals whipped up for your inspiration!

I thought I'd try out this beautiful color combo, cQc #195, over at ColourQ along with the FREE Cue Card challenge at CAS-ology!

It's difficult to find patterned paper in purple tones, but I stumbled on a pretty pack at Jo-Ann's a few weeks ago...a line from Kathy Davis called Journeys...comes in handy when I need a little splash of violet, or Orchid Opulence in this case:)

If you missed my Birthday Linky Party announcement, click HERE for the details!  It's going to be a blast!

I grabbed those buttery Gelatos again to create a watercolored look on the rose blooms!  Easy...just rub the Gelatos on your craft mat, spritz with water, and use as a stamp pad of sorts!  Beautiful!

Thanks so much for stopping by the stage!

Seize the (happy) Birthday

There's a new sketch in town, STB #19!  Our very own Jen Nelson at Seize the Birthday created this fabulous sketch to work with ... isn't it fabulous?!  The different panels gave me special permission to use not one, but three different patterned papers from Crate Paper Acorn Avenue!  Love when that happens...the Little Red Wagon Challenge #189 is just that...Use 3 or more patterned papers!

A Day for Daisies has generously offered to be our sponsor for this sketch!  I have a beautiful image from ADFD, and sadly, my printer is not working and I'm unable to show it to you!  However, the other Seize the Birthday DT girls are showcasing ADFD images on their projects, so make sure you go check them out at the STB Blog!

The adorable images on my card are Wendy Burns Designs, Cupcake Cutie, from My Favorite Things...so adorable!  I colored the little girl image and her cutie patootie dog with Copic markers, fussy cut them out, and popped them up with foam adhesive over a few layers of patterned paper.  After a little ribbon and sequins detail, this "happy" card is ready to give a special young lady for her birthday!

Birthday Wishes for you... STB #18

Good morning!  It's time for a new sketch over at Seize the Birthday!  This is my second attempt at a "birthday" card...realized with the original that I added a "thank you" sentiment instead of a birthday greeting!

Isn't Jen's sketch wonderful?!  It is one of those "go to" sketches that you want go back and use time and again!  I was also inspired by the color scheme and graphical tote bag from the ColourQ #191...fabulous colors and patterns here!

So, I 'm not sure I like the placement of the twine bow on the center of the flower...thinking about pulling it off and switching it out for another silver sequin!  The gray twine was calling my name and I caved...probably shouldn't have.

Thanks so much for stopping by the stage!  Have a wonderful day!

Stamps:  Surely Goodness, Making a Statement (Verve)
Dies:  Goodness Flowers Die Set,  Sweet Scallop Die (Verve A Cut Above), Fishtail Flag Stax (MFT)
Ink:  Black (Momento), Real Red (SU)
Paper:  Gray (Craft Junction), Story Teller (Crate Paper)
Misc.:  silver sequins, gray baker's twine, sewing machine, thread

Seize the Birthday with Bugaboo

There's a new sketch up and running over at Seize the Birthday, and we have a fun sponsor this week...Bugaboo Stamps!  How stinkin' cute is that stick figure image...love it with just a little splash of color here and there!

I paired the sketch up with the Celebrations theme over at Ribbon Carousel Challenge #81.

Did you happen to notice what's missing from my card...something I add to almost every card?!  I am a little annoyed with myself for forgetting, but it was too late to add after everything was adhered together!

Thanks for stopping by the stage!

cool happy STB birthday...

How fabulous is the new blog look on Seize the Birthday...LOVE what Lesley created and the new versatility of participating in the challenges:)

This week's sketch, STB #16 is what I call a "GO-TO" sketch, one that I will use over and over again...these come in handy when you're in a pinch to make a quick card and lacking inspiration...which happens to me more often than I like to admit!

Speaking of a "GO-TO" sketch, The Wish BIG stamp set from The Alley Way Stamps is a "GO-TO" birthday set that is a MUST-HAVE, too!  I'm totally loving the Signs & Symbols kit from Paper Made Bakery...the fabulous Glitz paper, die cuts, and embellishments are perfect to whip up a quick card!
