HEARTFELT

So excited! My Heartfelt card ROCKED the MASHUP! Thanks to the team over at Friday Mashup for the shout-out!
Happy Monday! It's time for another challenge over at The Pink Elephant, TPE 163. This week, the challenge is to create a sympathy/thinking of you project. I couldn't help but remember a dear lady that passed away recently as I was making this card. She was one of the first to welcome my husband and I into our church family many years ago, and I have her delicious sugar cookie recipe, that I will cherish even more now. You will be missed, Bernie, but I know that you are in a better place.
The sketch at Crazy 4 Challenges, C4C151, was just what I needed to get started with my sympathy card.
The color scheme over at Friday Mashup, FM73, using Midnight Muse, So Saffron, Tempting Turquoise, and Soft Suede worked well for a thank you or a sympathy-themed card. Love the soft, subtle colors! I also submitted this card to the Speedy Fox and Friends #126.
Lots of layers for this one...had fun using some of my Stampin' Up! dies...isn't the doily and the big label fabulous? The flags/pennants I made just cutting strips of designer paper, then punching the bottom with a square punch.
Thanks for stopping by the stage. Head on over to The Pink Elephant and join in on the fun!

You're Amazing

This card was inspired by a few cool challenges, the Gallon/Quart/Pint challenge over at Moxie Fab World, the Retro Sketches #26...
the Cas-ual Friday Challenge #67: Banners and Flags.
and the Play Date Cafe #146 using Black, White and a SPLASH of Lime:)
I'm loving the baker's twine/button embellishment combination, along with lots die cut layers...bear with me while I get my fill of them:)

Back to School TODAY!

It's hard to believe that another summer break has come and gone! Today is our first day back to school. Noah is in 7th grade and will be in the same building and hallway as I am...kinda cool (I hope:) Ben is in 5th grade and Hannah is in 2nd grade! They are growing up WAY too fast! The card I made for today's challenge at The Pink Elephant is going to Hannah's teacher, Mrs. Bragg, along with a few teacher goodies:)
Head on over to The Pink Elephant to see what the other gals whipped up this week for the "Create Your Own Embellishments" challenge, TPE #162. I also submitted this card to the Friends of Speedy: Back to School Challenge over at MFP Speedy TV.
Thanks for stopping by the stage! Happy BACK TO SCHOOL day!

First Day of School - TPE 161

Good Morning and Happy Monday! It's time for a theme challenge from The Pink Elephant, Back to School, TPE 161.
I combined a couple of other challenges for my "Back to School" card. The Color Throwdown #204 worked well with Basic Gray, Poppy Parade, Very Vanilla and Pumpkin Pie, though I did need to add a smidge of green for that cute little bookworm:)
I was also excited to use Jen's August Sketch For You to Try...love all the fun layers and panels that I could add to my card!
Being a teacher, you would think that I have plenty of Back to School stamp sets to choose from, but guess what? I only own ONE, and it's an oldie (but, a goodie). I suppose I need to add some "school" stamps to my collection...let me know of any good ones that you like!
Thanks for stopping by the stage! Head on over to The Pink Elephant to see what the other fabulous designers have whipped up this week...and hope you'll play along:)

Stamps: Back to School (SU) Ink: Basic Gray (SU), Copics Paper: Pumpkin Pie, Very Vanilla, Basic Gray CS, assorted DSP (SU) Other: Big Shot, Apothecary Dies, Chevron Embossing Folder, Corduroy Button, Linen Thread, Spiral Punch (SU) Pin It

hello

There's a fun Tuesday Trigger challenge going on over at Moxie Fab World called Type Hype with this cool inspiration photo...
I paired the Type Hype challenge with the Deconstructed Sketch #64 over at Deconstructing Jen.
This card has loads of color, patterns and layers...just the way I like it:) The two background panels were stitched with the sewing machine, then topped off with a vintage typewriter image, and finished off with some black hemp twine and jumbo button.
Thanks for stopping by the stage!

Cherish ~ TPE160

Happy Monday, everyone! It's time for another fun challenge over at The Pink Elephant!
For years, my FAVORITE embellishment has been RIBBON...so you could probably hear me jumping for joy when I found out our challenge this week was to use RIBBON! The Ribbon Carousel is our sponsor this week at The Pink Elephant and is offering a $10 gift certificate to one of our lucky participants!
I also got a little inspiration from these two challenges, the Color Throwdown 203,
and the Deconstructed Sketch 63.
Whip out some ribbon and head on over to The Pink Elephant Challenge #160! Can't wait to see what you create:)
Thanks for stopping by!

Up, Up and Away

I've been cruising for challenges this weekend and have collected quite a list of them! For this card, I combined three challenges...the CAS-ual Friday #64: On Cloud 9...
the ColourQ Challenge #146...
and the Clean & Simple Stamping Fall-to Layout #202.
Keeping my card clean and simple is definitely a challenge for me! I managed to keep lots of white space with an embossed white background and just a hint of color with the flags and hot air balloon. After a little stamping and paper piecing of the image panel, a little stitching of the flags, and a little tying of buttons...my card was complete! Fun card to make:)
Thanks for stopping by the stage! Check back in the morning for a brand-new challenge from The Pink Elephant!
