Love You ~ cQc 39

I'm in love...with Arielle's color combination, ColourQ Challenge #39, that is! The shades of red & blue with contrasting white on this quilted pin cushion are delightful, don't you think? Check out the Pals Paper Arts #49: 4th of July Inspiration picture...so perfect for the holiday weekend! You know how much I LOVE ribbon, right? Well, the Really Reasonable Ribbon blog challenge #3 to use ribbon with a patriotic them, so I must play along!

There's only one little ooops on my card...I grabbed the Chocolate Chip Craft ink instead of the Bravo Burgundy Craft ink to do a little heat embossing. Boy, is coloring easier with embossed image lines!

Thanks for stopping by! Is everyone ready a weekend of sparkle? Plans for the Schafer family aren't confirmed yet, but fireworks are a definate!

DREAMS ~ KWerner Color Inspiration #49

I was just turning the lights off after a night with the girls...watching Twilight...when I checked my blog list for new projects. Low and behold, Kristina had just posted the round-up for last week and the new Color Inspiration Challenge #49! I thought briefly about heading to bed anyway, but couldn't stand the temptation to break out these fun colors and create a card.

The card base is Kiwi Kiss, the front covered with Raspberry Tart DSP. The panel of Pacific Point has Whisper White Scallop Edges on the top and bottom and was then wrapped with a piece of Rose Red Grosgrain ribbon. I used my neglected Dreams du Jour stamp set for this card, which is great for watercoloring. I stamped the image in Black Stazon & again in Rose Red, cut out the Black full image and just the Rose Red DREAMS part. After coloring the flowers and leaves with the blender pen, I layered the pieces together and attached the image to the card with some Linen Thread.

Stamps: Dreams du Jour
Paper: Kiwi Kiss, Pacific Point, Whisper White CS, Raspberry Tart DSP
Ink: Black Stazon, Rose Red, Kiwi Kiss
Other: Blender Pen, Scallop Edge punch, 1/16" Hole punch, Crafters Tool Kit, Ice Circle Rhinestone Brads, Rose Red 1" Grosgrain, Linen Thread, Stampin' Dimensionals, Mini Glue Dots
