thinking of you ~ SSSC 58 & PPA 31

It's Sunday, one of my favorite days of the week! It's a Curtain Call Color Challenge day...and a Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge day! Karen's SSSC #58 was just what I need to pair up with the Pals Paper Arts inspiration challenge, PPA31. The organic schemes reminded me of the colors Rose Red, Old Olive & Chocolate Chip.

I grabbed the Sweet Pea Stitched Felt package and selected three matching flowers & centers for the trio panel. These felt flowers are so cute and fun to use:) The Pretty in Pink card base was layered with Chocolate Chip & Sweet Pea DSP and wrapped with a strip of Old Olive grosgrain. The main Whisper White panel was embossed using the Perfect Polka Dots folder and adhered to a Pretty in Pink piece of cardstock. I've had the best results using Crystal Effects to adhere these felt flowers and pieces to my project. The sentiment tag was stamped with a greeting from Trendy Trees and adhered between the leaves & flower embellishment.

Stamps: Trendy Trees (sentiment)
Paper: Pretty in Pink, Chocolate Chip, Whisper White CS, Sweet Pea DSP
Ink: Chocolate Chip
Other: Sweet Pea Stitched Felt, Crystal Effects, Old Olive 5/8" Grosgrain, Big Shot, Perfect Polka Dots Textured Impressions Folder

Thinking of You Fleurettes

Kristina Werner challenged us to "Use It, sister!" and encouraged us to use those crafting supplies that have just been sitting there neglected. I immediately thought of the Fleurettes from the last catalog that I just had to have, but never used. Since there is a new version of the Fleurettes (all white) in the new catty, I better use up the other ones first:) Thanks, Kristina, for the "push"...it feels exhilerating to finally use these chocheted darlings!

Stamps: Trendy Trees (greeting)
Paper: Pink Pirouette & Riding Hood Red (retired), Whisper White CS, Rockabilly DSP (retired)
Ink: Riding Hood Red (retired)
Other: Fleurettes (retired), 3/16" Jumbo Brads, Scallop Edge Punch, Three Flower Punch, Mat Pack, Paper Piercing Tool, Clearly Thanks Window Sheets, Riding Hood Red Striped Grosgrain

Jewelry Color Inspiration #36 Submissions & Winner

Anyone who knows me also knows that have an obsession for stamping and for JEWELRY! I enjoy participating in other stamping challenges and want to share the fun by offering my own weekly Jewelry Color Inspiration Challenge. The Jewelry Color Inspiration Challenge #36 was posted last Sunday and included a jewelry photo, color swatches, and my card along with the link to the website where I found it. Check back later to see the Jewelry Color Inspiration #37 for this week!

Dini of Beadazzled of Oregon created this unique piece called Yellow House Designs. The beads are handmade by
Julie Picarello. Dini created this piece entirely by hand with a bead weaving technique. Wow! Can you imagine the time it takes to create something this detailed and ornate? I love the colors in this amazing necklace...the turquoise, yellow and lilac are fantastic together!

I saw a card a few weeks ago that had some unique colors with trees and loved it, so I thought I'd try a funky take on the Trendy Trees stamp set. Your stamp-a-majig is a must with this stamp set! I used the Fall-To Layout #41 from Clean & Simple Stamping blog for my sketch inspiration on this card.

Stamps: Trendy Trees
Paper: Tempting Turquoise, So Saffron, Lavendar Lace, Whisper White
Ink: Tempting Turquoise, So Saffron, Lavendar Lace, Basic Gray
Other: Dress Up Ribbon, 1 1/4" Circle punch, Stamp-a-majig

What a tough decision for me to pick a favorite from all of these, but I had to pick Rochelle's second card, or is her first card? She wasn't happy with her first card and made a second...my favorite is this one!

Congratulations, Rochelle! Please email me your mailing address so I get your Botanical Blooms stamp set to you.

I found this lovely bracelet at the Ballard Beads etsy shop. The designer, dianarose26, incorporates lampwork, crystal, silver, and colorful glass elements in her designs.

Something Lili mentioned in her comment about the autumn and spring feeling that this jewelry gives instantly made me think of the Trendy Trees stamp set and Funky Forest wheel that I used. Instead of using gray or silver cardstock/paper, I encorporated the silver with the metal clip. And, the sentiment says it all...I am impressed, amazed, inspired by you! Can't wait to see what you all come up with:)

Stamps: Trendy Trees, Funky Forest, Sweet Sentiments
Paper: Cameo Coral, Chocolate Chip, Whisper White
Ink: Versamark, Chocolate Chip, Cameo Coral
Other: Clips Assortment, Chocolate Chip Taffeta, White EP, Heat Tool, Stampin' Sponges
