Let's Celebrate

This is such a fun stamp set, Tropical Party, for the summer! Doesn't it just make you want to have a Pina Colada or a Margarita?

I combined three challenges for this tropical card...Jen's Sketch For You To Try and the Pals Paper Arts Color Challenge #46 using Bermuda Bay, Crushed Curry & Soft Suede, and The Shabby Tea Room #14: Summer Fun.

I mixed a few pieces of designer series paper and pulled it all together with the Tropical Party stamp set and some of favorite accessories...brads and ribbon:) I stamped the needle-like branch as a background, then stamped the other three images for cutting out. The layers were adhered and images were popped up with dimensionals to finish the card off.

Thanks for stopping by! Happy Sunday, folks!

Stamps: Tropical Party, On Your Birthday (sentiment)

the BEST in you

I combined three challenges for this card tonight...the Pals Paper Art Challenge #40: Monochromatic Blues, The Shabby Tea Room Week #7 Comforts of Home and...

the Fall-to Layout #88 at the Clean & Simple stamping blog. This fab sketch was the perfect one to showcase a "quilted" panel for my shabby chic card.

I LOVE quilts, so Debbie's shabby inspiration was right up my alley. I immediately thought of the Bella Bleu Designer Series Paper to create a "quilted" look on my card. There's a little stitching around the paper-pieced panel...but would've been even better to stitch around each piece. If you look closely, you'll see that I've dry embossed the card base as well as the panel to mimic a quilt even more.

Stamps: Full of Life (sentiment)
Paper: Kraft, Not Quite Navy, Very Vanilla CS, Bella Bleu DSP
Ink: Not Quite Navy
Other: Lemon Tart Button (Papertrey Ink), Crystal Trinket Pins (Taylored Expressions), Big Shot, Elegant Bouquet & Finial Press Textured Embossing Folders, Elementary Ribbon Originals, Linen Thread

Happy Mother's Day

How yummy do these cupcakes look? mmmm... Rachel's Cupcake Inspiration Challenge #54 was the starting point for my card with that yummy peach color, and little leafy green. I was drawn to using this polka dot paper, too, which reminded me of that dotted decoration on those fab cupcakes.

Karen's Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge #64 is the perfect layout inspiration for my Sunday cards...I look forward to her sketches every week:)

The theme challenge over at Pals Paper Arts, PPA37 calls for flowers. I just love button-style flowers:)

Well, folks, my vacation is over...back to work tomorrow! Though, dear hubby reminded me that we'll (the kids and I) have summer break in just 7 weeks:) Have a great week, everybody!

Stamps: Blooming Button Bits (PTI)

It's Good to Dream

I may have taken on too much with this card, but Mr. Big Shot was the tool of choice here. I used the Big Shot to die cut several flowers, leaves and top notes to help me complete this card.

I combined three challenges...the Pals Paper Arts flowers theme challenge #31, this fabulous sketch of Laura's (#49) at 2 Sketches 4 You...

and Arielle's cool color combo, the ColourQ Challenge #27 using Tangerine Tango, Night of Navy, Tempting Turquoise, Soft Suede & Whisper White...so preppy, don't you think?

What's super cool about these colors is that they will ALL be in the Color Collection in the upcoming 2010-2011 Idea Book & Catalog. We just found out that Tangerine Tango is an old In Color that Stampin' Up! will be bringing back to stay...pretty exciting for us SU demos:)

Stamps: Razzle Dazzle
Paper: Tangerine Tango, Tempting Turquoise, Soft Suede, Night of Navy, Whisper White CS, retired DSP
Ink: Tempting Turquoise, Soft Suede, Tangerine Tango
Other: Big Shot, Top Note Die, Daisy, Birds & Blooms and Leaves Sizzlets, Ice Circle Rhinestone Brads, Mat Pack & Paper Piercing Tool, Soft Suede Polka Dot Grosgrain

Go check out these challenges for yourself and get a little crafty inspiration:) Have a great day!

thinking of you ~ SSSC 58 & PPA 31

It's Sunday, one of my favorite days of the week! It's a Curtain Call Color Challenge day...and a Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge day! Karen's SSSC #58 was just what I need to pair up with the Pals Paper Arts inspiration challenge, PPA31. The organic schemes reminded me of the colors Rose Red, Old Olive & Chocolate Chip.

I grabbed the Sweet Pea Stitched Felt package and selected three matching flowers & centers for the trio panel. These felt flowers are so cute and fun to use:) The Pretty in Pink card base was layered with Chocolate Chip & Sweet Pea DSP and wrapped with a strip of Old Olive grosgrain. The main Whisper White panel was embossed using the Perfect Polka Dots folder and adhered to a Pretty in Pink piece of cardstock. I've had the best results using Crystal Effects to adhere these felt flowers and pieces to my project. The sentiment tag was stamped with a greeting from Trendy Trees and adhered between the leaves & flower embellishment.

Paper: Pretty in Pink, Chocolate Chip, Whisper White CS, Sweet Pea DSP
