Curtain Call Color Challenge: Act 19

This Curtain Call Color Challenge will remain at the top of the page through the week. To see new postings, please scroll down.

This polaroid shot of Susannah Tucker's was a fabulous inspiration for me this week, and I hope you will love it, too! Go check out Susannah's creative photography for yourself at Susannah Tucker...a photo blog. The colors of the butterflies and cage inspired me to use Rich Razzleberry, Pink Pirouette, Bashful Blue & Very Vanilla...love the soft cream, pink and blue with that contrasting berry!

Join us for the Curtain Call Color Challenge: Act 19 and you could be one of next Show Stoppers to earn this badge!

To participate in the Curtain Call Color Challenge: Act 19...

1. Create a papercrafted (card, scrapbook page, or 3D) project using these colors or similar shades.
2. Post it on your blog or other public gallery (Splitcoaststampers, Paper Craft Planet, Stampin' Addicts, etc.) using the keywords Curtain Call including a direct link back here to the challenge.
3. Enter your name and the exact link to your project in the Mr. Linky box below.

Please note the new deadline will be Friday night: You have until Friday, March 5th before midnight (CST) to enter your Curtain Call Color Challenge: Act 19 project.

Those who are chosen as Show Stoppers will be awarded the Show Stopper badge to post on their blog and share the exciting news! I will be picking more than one Show Stopper for every ten Curtain Call Color Challenge submissions!

For You

I sponged the edges of each layer on my card today...wanted to give it a soft/vintage look. The Bashful Blue card base is layered with Pink Pirouette & Candy Lane DSP, then wrapped with Very Vanilla Satin ribbon. The button was attached to the bow with a piece of Linen Thread. For the main panel, a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock was stamped with Fine Flourish and the greeting, punched with the Scallop Edge punch, and finally finished up with a hand-cut Rich Razzleberry stamped butterfly from the Great Friend stamp set...and yes, the pearl accents are from the Pretties Kit. Hope you'll join me for this week's color challenge!

Stamps: Great Friend, Fine Flourish
Paper: Bashful Blue, Pink Pirouette, Very Vanilla CS, Candy Lane DSP (retired)
Ink: Bashful Blue, Rich Razzleberry
Other: Stampin' Sponge, Very Vanilla Satin Ribbon, Scallop Edge Punch, Button Bouquet Designer Buttons (retired), Linen Thread

Great Friend

I made this card for Karen's Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge #14 and for Julie's Great Friend Card Contest.

Hmmm, after I posted this card, I realized that the sketch is a square card...oops! I may have to try my hand at this sketch again with a different color combination. The Walk in the Park DSP and Great Friend stamp set (both from the Occasions Mini catalog) are such a dynamic duo, and you gotta love those new Jumbo Grommets.

Stamps: Great Friend
Paper: Regal Rose, Basic Gray, Whisper White CS, Walk in the Park DSP
Ink: Basic Gray, Baja Breeze

Great Friend ~ Chalkboard Technique

My stamp club gals made this card tonight using the Chalkboard technique. To get this amazing color stamped on Basic Black cardstock, you stamp your solid image in Whisper White and then apply Stampin' Pastels with a sponge dauber. It's definately an easy "wow" technique with just a few basic supplies.

The Great Friend stamp set is available in the Occasions Mini. It is beautiful set with lots of versatility...love it! To see the whole set, click on the Occasions Mini button in my left sidebar.

Stamps: Great Friend (Occasions Mini)
Paper: Basic Black, Whisper White, Regal Rose, Certainly Celery
Ink: Whisper White, Basic Black (greeting on the inside), Regal Rose
Other: Stampin' Pastels, Regal Rose 5/8" Grosgrain, Stampin' Dimensionals
