Hey There! ~ Spring Fling

Verve has some challenges going on right now for the Spring Fling. My card was inspired by the Spring Fling: Challenge 2.

I used a couple of pieces from the Good Neighbor Designer Series Paper Pack along with this Verve image from the Up, Up, & Away stamp set. My coloring is obviously not the best with the Stampin' Write Markers, but I'm still playing the Copics I recently bought. When I tried coloring the balloon with the Copics, it smeared my Black Stazon, which I thought was permanent. I guess I need some different ink for my lined images if I'm going to use the Copics. Any suggestions out there?

Have a great week everybody!

I'm loving this Monday Mojo Sketch #91 with the fun colors from Splitcoaststampers Color Challenge #223. The colors for the challenge are Ruby Red, Baja Breeze & Whisper White...classic! The Designer Series Specialty Paper called Sweet Slumber was one of my absolute favorites from the current catalog and will soon be all gone! However, the fun new products coming out on July 1st include a stamp set called Animal Stories with this darling little owl!

Circle Circus Swap

Tonight is our monthly demonstrator group meeting where we swap, chat, eat, learn new techniques and make fabulous projects to take home. This is the swap that I made to trade with the other demonstrators in our group. I used ALL NEW SNEAK PEEK items (except the Really Retro greeting) which are the Circle Circus stamp set, Bermuda Bay & Soft Suede cardstock, Bermuda Bay, Soft Suede & Crushed Curry ink, and Crushed Curry Polka Dotted Ribbon. The new In Colors are TOTALLY FABULOUS!

My Fabulous Friend ~ CTD46 & CPS119

I made this card for the Color Throwdown #46 and the Card Positioning Systems Sketch #119. There's not much stamping involved on this card but, Mr. Big Shot and the Daisy #2 Bigz die came in handy with the focal flower. The smaller flowers were punched with the Boho Blossoms punch. I definately need to take another photograph of this in natural light...I'll work on that tomorrow:)

Stamps: Really Retro
Paper: Certainly Celery, Brocade Blue, Bashful Blue, So Saffron CS
Ink: Brocade Blue
Other: Big Shot, Daisy #2 Bigz die, 3/4" Circle punch, Boho Blossoms punch, Fresh Favorites I buttons, Bashful Blue 1/2" Striped Grosgrain ribbon, Mini Glue Dots, Stampin' Dimensionals

Sneak Peek ~ Animal Stories & Tall Tales DSP for SC232

After I put the kiddos to bed tonight, I checked to see if the sketch challenge over at Splitcoaststampers had been posted...and to my pleasant surprise, it was! When I saw the long narrow main panel, I immediately thought of my new Animal Stories giraffe. I think the only thing I'm going to have trouble with using this set is NOT using it with the coordinating designer series paper, Tall Tales...love it!

Stamps: Animal Stories, Really Retro
Paper: Brocade Blue, So Saffron, Whisper White CS, Tall Tales DSP
Ink: Brocade Blue
Other: Rich Regals brads, Crafters Tool Kit, Brocade Blue 5/8" Grosgrain, Stampin' Dimensionals

Good For You ~ RSCC7 & TPE

I combined Dawn McVey's Raspberry Suite Color Challenge #7 with The Pink Elephant Sketch Challenge with this card. Dawn's colors in her beautiful photograph are Raspberry, Artichoke & Celery.

My Big Shot got some great use with this card. I used the sizzlet dies to create the bouquet of flowers and leaves with the Birds & Blooms, and Little Leaves sizzlets. I love those darling flower shapes that mimic a button look! Notice the color spritzing on the vase that was punched with a Wide Oval punch with the top cut off and placed as a base of the vase. To wrap the ribbon through the book-style card, I cut a sliver of the fold to slide the ribbon into and tie to the front.

Stamps: Really Retro
Paper: Certainly Celery, Always Artichoke, Rose Red, Pink Passion, Very Vanilla CS
Ink: Always Artichoke, Certainly Celery Stampin' Write Markers
Other: Color Spritzer, Coluzzle, Certainly Celery 5/8" Grosgrain, Rich Regals brads, Big Shot, Birds & Blooms, Little Leaves Sizzlets, Stampin' Dimensionals

Sweet Sticky Cuts ~ KWerner Color Inspiration #48

I have been waiting to use these sticky cuts with the yummy glitter. When I saw Kristina's Color Inspiration #48, I remembered that I had aqua, chocolate and olive glitter from the Fine Super Nova Stampin' Glitter packs that would work nicely. My little girl, Hannah, was in awe of so much glitter! She wants me to make her a card with pink and purple glitter...so stay tuned for that.

The Sticky Cuts are so much easier to use than I predicted. You simply punch out the shape(s) you want to use, remove the white backing to adhere to your project. Then, remove the red plastic and sprinkle the glitter on... and tap off the excess...VIOLA!

Stamps: Really Retro
Paper: Whisper White, Baja Breeze, Chocolate Chip
Ink: Chocolate Chip
Other: Sticky Cuts Sweet, Fine Super Nova Stampin' Glitter, Pig Tails Ribbon Assortment, Small & Large Oval punches, Button Latte, Pop-Up Glue Dots

Jewelry Color Inspiration #24 Submissions

Anyone who knows me also knows that have an obsession for stamping and for JEWELRY! I enjoy participating in other stamping challenges and want to share the fun by offering my own weekly Jewelry Color Inspiration Challenge. The Jewelry Color Inspiration Challenge #23 was posted last Sunday and included a jewelry photo along with the link to the website where I found it.

I found this fun bracelet called Mellow Yellow at the Cool Jewelry etsy shop. The designer, Pam, loves to work with color and texture and enjoys pairing the most unusual suspects together, often in an asymmetrical style.

Here's my card using the colors for this week's Jewelry Color Inspiration #24. I think this is one of my favorite color combinations, or maybe I'm just in the mood for spring! I also got a little sketch inspiration from Laura's #19.

Stamps: Really Retro, Petal Pizazz
Paper: Sahara Sand, Whisper White, Tempting Turquoise CS
Ink: Yoyo Yellow, Tempting Turquoise, Kiwi Kiss, Sahara Sand
Other: 5/16" Jumbo Neutrals Brads, Whisper White Taffeta, Stampin' Dimensionals, Paper Snips, Crafters Tool Kit

I was WOWed again this week with the Jewelry Color Inspiration #24 submissions! Great use of color, ladies! Thanks again for playing along! I'm working on a Jewelry Color Inspiration Award for future challenges and a challenge button that you can add to your blogs, too!

my fabulous friend ~ CC205 & FTL28

Here's a card that I made with two challenges, the Color Challenge #205 at Splitcoaststampers.com and the Fall To Layout #28 on Clean & Simple blog. The color combination that I used from the color challenge was Pink Pirouette, Kiwi Kiss & Perfect Plum...and here is the sketch from the layout challenge. What a great pair these two challenges make! Sorry about my photo...super blurry...taking pictures of my projects at night doesn't work the greatest!
