Yay! Summer's Here!

Finally....I was able to upload my sample for Laura's Sketch #53 at 2 Sketches 4 You.  I'm not sure if blogger was down or if my satellite internet was running slow like it sometimes does.  Anyway, I'm so glad I could finally get this project uploaded.  I had tons of fun working with our sponsors this week, Kelly Marie Alvarez's Lawn Fawn stamps and Scor-It's Position-It tool.

Here's a quick tutorial for you on using the Position-It to create a grassy border.
First, place the acetate sheet square inside the wooden positioner.  Then ink up and stamp your image in the corner.

Next, apply a dotto adhesive under your paper to secure it in place.  Then, align the positioner and the acetate over your paper where you'd like the image to show up.

Next, remove the acetate and stamp the image in that same spot.

Repeating the last two steps several times will give an evenly stamped grassy border.

How stinkin' cute are these images from the Critters in the Burb stamp set.  I love the paper-pieced butterfly and tree:)  Head on over to 2 Sketches 4 You and give Laura's awesome sketch a try...you may have the Card of the Week and win some goodies!

I'm giving this fun card to my school neighbor tomorrow:)  It's report card day and I'll miss the teachers that I work with.  But, you gotta love SUMMER!!!  Time to STAMP!

Paper:  cardstock & designer paper (Taylored Expressions)

Curtain Call Color Challenge: {ACT 31}

How darling is this little house? This garden house from Ada & Darcy reminds me of a sweet little girl's playhouse. My husband and I are planning to move and fix up an old rounded roof shed in the backyard where my daughter Hannah can play house this summer. It just needs a good cleaning and a fresh coat of paint...then it will be ready for Hannah to move her kitchen set and baby dolls in. I imagine that my boys will sneak in and have a little fun, too!

To participate in the Curtain Call Color Challenge: Act 31...

1. Create a papercrafted (card, scrapbook page, or 3D) project using these colors or similar shades.
2. Post it on your blog or other public gallery (Splitcoaststampers, Paper Craft Planet, Stampin' Addicts, etc.) using the keywords Curtain Call 31 and make sure to include a link back here to the challenge.

Thinking of You

Love the grassy border....so easy! Just hand cut a couple of strips of cardstock and distress the top edge a little....viola...a perfect grassy border to showcase your outdoorsy image:) I inked the tree from Thoughts & Prayers stamp set in Not Quite Navy and stamped it directly on to a piece of Tea Party DSP. The little Pretty in Pink flowers were punched with the Trio Flower Punch and attached with Vintage Brads. Finally, a yummy bow (of course) is tied at the bottom to complete the card for sending.

By the way, I'm still on a learning curve with my NEW MacBook Pro, but totally in love with the simplicity & efficiency of it!!! Thanks to those of you Mac users that sent me some feedback and tips on editing my photographs! Anybody out there use GIMP to edit photos on their Mac?

Stamps: Thoughts & Prayers
Paper: Pretty in Pink, Almost Amethyst, Whisper White, Garden Green CS, Tea Party DSP
Ink: Night of Navy
Other: Trio Flower Punch, Mat Pack & Paper Piercing Tool, Vintage Brads, Pretty in Pink Satin Ribbon, Cutter Kit

Thanks for making me smile

Here's Kazan's fabulous sketch #53...as you can see, I flipped the sketch to encorporate a row of funky flowers! Head on over to 2 Sketches 4 You and join us for the fun!

Our sponsers at 2 Sketches 4 You this week are WPlus9 Designs & Position-It. I used the fun stamp set called Funky Flowers from WPlus9 Designs on my card...you know how I love flowers:) and I whipped a little tutorial for using the Position-It tool. This tool is ideal for lining up stamps, especially wood mounted ones.

First, place the acetate sheet inside the right angle of the small position bar, then stamp your desired image.

Next, place the acetate sheet over a piece of cardstock and line it up the way you want it to appear when stamped.

Then, place the small positioner bar up against the acetate with image underneath, like so...and stamp the cardstock.

This can be repeated until your images are lined up the way you like.

Here is the completed row of flowers...ready for coloring!

Stamps: Funky Flowers (WPlus9 Designs)
Paper: Bermuda Bay, Kraft, Whisper White CS, Thoroughly Modern DSP
Ink: Black Stazon, Copics
Other: Position-It (Scor-It), Rich Regals Brads, Mat Pack & Paper Piercing Tool, Bermuda Bay Polka Dot Grosgrain, Fresh Favorites I Buttons, Hemp Twine
