Viva la Verve - Your Courage

Hello there, Verve Stamps fans!  I'm up on the Viva la Verve Sketches blog today, hosting a brand new sketch....perfect for those of you who love to layer!

I stamped those Happy Place whimsical flowers over some orange patterned paper and die cut them using the coordinating Happy Doodles Die Set.  The Inspire Hope sentiment was added to the tag over a piece of pink patterned paper.  After displaying the Pennant Trim Banner Trim over the top of the card front, I sprinkled a few of the Aqua Skies and Golden Glam Shaker Mixes.

Thanks so much for stopping by the stage!
Hope to see your Verve-ilicious creations in the VLV gallery!

Here are the Sugar Pea Designs stamps and dies that I used on my card today!

It is no surprise that I LOVE to layer!  The SugarPea Designs SugarCuts line is perfect for just that...layering it up!  First, I stamped the precious beach girl image from Seaside Wishes over a piece of subtle woodgrain patterned paper and fussy cut her out, then the layering began!  I like the clean, untouched look of uncolored images over subtle papers.  The SugarCuts - Heart Journal Card Set panel was cut from a piece of vellum and the SugarCuts - Layered Treat Labels label was cut from a piece of foliage printed paper.  The tag and transparency star fish were added from a Basic Grey Adrift ephemera pack to enhance with pops of color.

Thanks so much for stopping by the stage and I hope you'll play along with the SugarPea Challenge!

Carta Bella - Soak Up the Sun

Hello, Carta Bella Paper fans!
I'm up on the Carta Bella Blog today with a two greeting cards using the new Soak Up the Sun Collection!

Say Hello to Summer Card

The Carta Bella Soak Up the Sun Collection is totally FUN...maybe I'll call it Soak Up the Fun!  This collection couldn't be more PERFECT for your summer projects!  Who's ready for summer....THIS GIRL!  There are some awesome new Carta Bella Embossing Folders that I wanted to show off today, especially!  Check out the Pinwheels and Clouds Embossing Folders...love them!

The sturdy texture of Carta Bella Paper Collections is second to none!  The papers have such rich color and a fabulous texture that is irresistible.  I also LOVE the selection of patterns in each collection, with small/medium/large scale patterns along with muted monochromatic ones, too.

Designer Tip:  Create with Texture & Movement

To create texture and movement to your creations, follow these simple tips!

1. Add baker's twine bows or loose circular swirls under tags/sentiment panels.
2. Angle your background panels slightly.
3. Use embossing, either heat embossing or with embossing folders.

Happy-Go-Lucky Card

Here is the supply list that I used to create the  greeting cards!

Carta Bella Soak Up the Sun Collection
Carta Bella Natural White Linen Card Stock
Paper Trimmer
Scoring Tool
Tape Adhesive
Foam Adhesive
Liquid Glue
Baker's Twine

Directions:
1.  Cut apart Carta Bella Natural White Linen Card Stock to 4.25" by 11" and score at at 5", fold and score to create the card base.

2.  After embossing a 4" by 5.25" piece of the same Carta Bella Natural White Linen Card Stock using the Carta Bella Embossing Folder, adhere to the card front.

3.  Cut apart the 3" by 4" journal cards in the Soak Up the Sun Collection to use as layer panels on your card front.  Adhere them in a tilted angle fashion to create movement.

4.  Next, adhere some of your favorite Soak Up the Sun Collection stickers and Chipboard Accents, adding texture with bits of baker's twine here and there.

When creating with Carta Bella collections, it is easy and fun to whip up handmade cards and gifts!  I hope you are inspired to create some fun cards today using your Carta Bella collections!

Curtain Call - Bouquet

It's time for a new Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge!

We have a new sponsor, Penny Black, for the Curtain Call Inspiration: Bouquet!  A randomly selected participant in the Bouquet challenge will have their choice of a Penny Black gift certificate, while the LEAD will be invited as a Guest Designer in a future challenge!

Here is the gorgeous Penny Black Flower Sparks stamp set that I got to use for the challenge today!  I love the variety of flower stems and all-occasion sentiments...a great set to have!

There's a bit of watercoloring on my card.  I stamped three different flowers over some watercolor paper and heat embossed them using clear embossing powder.  I added some diluted distress inks with a paint brush just around the flowers to add some color.  A few drops of color and sequins were sprinkled about before layering it all up with papers.

Make sure you visit each of the designers' blogs for more inspiration!

STAY TUNED...

 Hi there, stamping friends!
I had a chance to use some fun new stamps and dies from My Favorite Things today and couldn't wait to share!

There are two challenges going on now, too, so it was a perfect time for me to play along with these new goodies that I received at a craft retreat a few weeks ago.

Here are the graphics for the current MFT Card Challenges!

After getting the Sour Apple Card Stock card base ready and adding a couple of angled patterned paper panels, I went to work on the super fun focal point...that TV!  When I first saw that LLD Stay Tuned stamp set and Die-namics LLD Television, I instantly began reminiscing about my childhood when we had to get up off the couch and "flip" the channel knob manually!

For the card, I layered all of those fun pieces of the television together and added a sentiment stamped over a piece of vellum to adhere across the center.  This card is perfect for my oldest son who will turn 15 at the end of the month....he watches a bit of TV also and should get a chuckle out of this retro TV style that his mom and dad used to watch "back in the day."  LOL!

Thanks for stopping by the stage!
