SugarPea Designs - Creative Color Challenge #2

Hey there, SugarPea Designs friends!

I made this card for my boy, Ben, who is off on a Boy Scout camping trip this week.  It's all tucked inside a care package that he should get in a day or two, along with some of his favorite candies and treats.

There's a new Creative Color Challenge up and running over at the SugarPea Designs blog today!  Check out this gorgeous inspiration graphic and color palette!  

To play along with the SugarPea Designs Creative Color Challenge, the rules are very simple…

• Create a new card or project using the colors in the CCC#2.  SugarPea Designs stamps are NOT required to play along or to win but would be appreciated :).

• Upload to your blog or other Online Gallery using Keyword: CCC2 so that we may check out your beautiful work.

• Add your name and link to your project in the InLinkz shown below.

• One randomly selected winner will receive a $10 Gift Certificate to the SugarPea Designs Online Shoppe. However, if the winning entry features a SugarPea Designs stamp we will increase the prize to $15

Here are the Sugar Pea Designs stamps and dies that I used on my card today!

I stamped the hombre image from the Let's Fiesta stamp set and left him uncolored for a cartoon look.    The SugarCuts - Heart Journal Card Set card became the main panel for the image with a SugarCuts - Polaroid Journal Card angled and peeking from behind a couple of Let's Fiesta stamped sentiment tags.  A bit of twine was added with a mini staple to finish off this fun card.

How adorable is that little bear?!  I've always loved teddy bears, so this set is near and dear to my heart.  The sweet sentiments and fun images make this stamp set that you will use again and again!  What's even better is that this set is FREE with $60 purchase through the end of this month.

I stamped the tree, grass, and bees from Bee My Honey over a piece of gray/white speckled paper, then added a copic-colored bear to the scene.  The main panel is one of two of the SugarCuts - Heart Journal Card Set and an extra SugarCuts - Polaroid Journal Card is nestled in the stack of layers.  The sentiment from Bee My Honey was stamped as a tag and embellished with some stapled baker's twine to finish it off.

Seaside Wishes

SugarCuts - Heart Journal Card Set

 SugarCuts - Layered Treat Labels

It is no surprise that I LOVE to layer!  The SugarPea Designs SugarCuts line is perfect for just that...layering it up!  First, I stamped the precious beach girl image from Seaside Wishes over a piece of subtle woodgrain patterned paper and fussy cut her out, then the layering began!  I like the clean, untouched look of uncolored images over subtle papers.  The SugarCuts - Heart Journal Card Set panel was cut from a piece of vellum and the SugarCuts - Layered Treat Labels label was cut from a piece of foliage printed paper.  The tag and transparency star fish were added from a Basic Grey Adrift ephemera pack to enhance with pops of color.

Sugar Cuts - Gift Tag

I stamped the adorable Hello Sunshine image over a piece of pretty paper and placed a photo overlay then some enamel dots to finish it off.  The banner tag was cut using the SugarCuts - Gift Tag to anchor the main panel on the card front.

To create a wintery card, I used the adorable Frosty Friends stamp set!
My oldest, Noah, loved to watch Barney videos when he was in preschool.  This stamp set reminds me of one of the Barney songs he used to sing along to..."If all of the snowflakes were candy canes and milkshakes, oh, what a snow that would be!...Ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah!"
