Curtain Call Color Challenge: {ACT 28}

The Curtain Call Color Challenge: {ACT 28} posting will remain at the top of the blog page until it expires on Friday night. Please scroll down to view the most recent postings.

Isn't this Velvet Ribbon from Cox & Cox just yummy? You know I LOVE ribbon, so these spools drew me right in. There's a bit of a rugged masculine feel to this one, but you'll see below that I couldn't resist to make it a little feminine:)

To participate in the Curtain Call Color Challenge: Act 28...

1. Create a papercrafted (card, scrapbook page, or 3D) project using these colors or similar shades.
2. Post it on your blog or other public gallery (Splitcoaststampers, Paper Craft Planet, Stampin' Addicts, etc.) using the keywords Curtain Call 28 and make sure to include a link back here to the challenge.
3. Enter your name and the direct link to your project in the Mr. Linky box below.

Please note the new deadline will be Friday night: You have until Friday, May 7th before midnight (CST) to enter your Curtain Call Color Challenge: Act 28 project.

Join us for the Curtain Call Color Challenge: Act 28 and you could be one of the next Show Stoppers! We have two awards up for grabs plus a giveaway (details below)! Those chosen as "The Lead" and "Top 5" will receive an award to post on their blog(s) and share the exciting news!

Happy Mother's Day

Even though the color combination this week lends itself to somewhat of a masculine feel, I decided to make a Mother's Day card. I saw a layout similar to this in the Paper Crafts magazine...love that mag:) That sweet little birdie punch hasn't had nearly enough love from me...it's just so cute and versatile. He looks great in solid cardstock, designer paper, embossed cardstock, you name it...

Stamps: All Holidays
Paper: Rose Red, Not Quite Navy, Kraft, Whisper White CS, Bella Bleu & retired DSP
Ink: Not Quite Navy, Sahara Sand
Other: Big Shot, Birds & Blooms and Little Leaves Sizzlets, Extra Large Bird Punch, Corner Rounder Mat Pack & Paper Piercing Tool, Fresh Favorites II & Kraft Corduroy Buttons, Linen Thread

Thank You

I definately need more practice with these fun rhinestones, but aren't they awesome? I sure hope Stampin' Up! offers these in the new catalog this summer! Speaking of the new catalog, we just found out about a color renovation that will be underway...very exciting! For one thing, Pink Pirouette is back....YEAH...love that sweet color.

I combined two challenges this card today...the Color Throwdown #87 using Pink, Gray & Soft Olive...and the Our Creative Corner Sketch Challenge #9.

I've been diligently working on my Artisan Award entries the last few days...and now it's down to crunch time. I just have a couple of projects left to create and then will mail them off hopefully Friday morning, just a day before the postmark deadline. Wish me luck! As for now, they are under lock & key...no peeking...LOL!

Have a great day, folks!

thank you ~ OCCSC7 & CTD84

A fab sketch and a striking color combo...viola...a super fun challenge card! I combined the Sketch #7, OCCSC7, over at the Our Creative Corner Sketch Blog with the Color Throwdown #84 including Teal, Black, Sky & Tangerine.

It's a sad day...I have NO Soft Sky left AND I realized that I used the last piece of Baja Breeze ribbon and have no more Baja Breeze cardstock. Those the old In Colors are dwindling fast:( If you look closely, the Pinking Hearts Punch borders on the middle strip were punched from a separate piece of Baja Breeze and the layered with a second pattern of Baja Breeze DSP.

Stamps: Teeny Tiny Wishes
Paper: Tangerine Tango, Taken With Teal, Basic Black, Very Vanilla CS, Sweet Pea & other retired DSP
Ink: Black Stazon
Other: Baja Breeze Corduroy Buttons, Mat Pack & Paper Piercing Tool, Pinking Hearts Border & 1" Circle Punch, Linen Thread, Baja Breeze retired ribbon, Big Shot, Daisies #2 Die

Holly Jolly Christmas

This simple and classic Christmas card was one that I demonstrated at a workshop last week. With the Big Shot, Curly Label Movers & Shapers XL Bigz die, and a few other basic supplies, I shared how to create these quick and easy holiday cards.

After cutting the card template with the Big Shot and die, I stamped the snowflake image from the Christmas punch on the front of the Real Red card base. On a separate piece of Whisper White, I stamped the "holly jolly" sentiment in Chocolate Chip ink, then punched it out using the coordinating Curly Label punch. Finally, tied some Chocolate Chip 5/8" Grosgrain ribbon into a square knot around the front of the card and adhered the sentiment with a Stampin' Dimensional just inside the other Curly Label window.

Stamps: Christmas Punch
Paper: Real Red, Whisper White
Ink: Real Red, Chocolate Chip
Other: Curly Label Movers & Shapers XL Bigz Die, Big Shot, Curly Label Punch, Chocolate Chip 5/8" Grosgrain

Celebrate You Pop-Up Cake

A talented and sweet blogging friend, Nancy Riley over at iSTAMP celebrated a birthday this week. This card was especially created just for her and I hope she likes it! She is always making the coolest things...you have to check out her Cupcake Gift Set!

It is my first attempt at the new Pop-Up Cake XL Bigz Die. I was slightly overwhelmed with putting the pop-up cake together, but the die comes with step-by-step instructions including color photos...and what a great help that is! It's really quite easy to do...and what a WOW effect this pop-up gives, don't you think?

I used the Razzleberry Lemonade Designer Series Paper along with coordinating cardstock in Melon Mambo, Crushed Curry, and Rich Razzleberry. The Party Hearty stamp set is one of my favorite stamps sets, so I used it with the same coorinating ink colors plus Pumpkin Pie. The front panel also shows off our new Melon Mambo Polka Dotted Ribbon....yummy!

Inside the card...POP!

Stamps: Party Hearty
Paper: Melon Mambo, Crushed Curry, Rich Razzleberry, Whisper White CS, Razzleberry Lemonade DSP
Ink: Melon Mambo, Crushed Curry, Rich Razzleberry, Pumpkin Pie Stampin' Write Markers
Other: Big Shot, Pop-Up Cake XL Bigz Die, 1 3/4" Circle & 3/4" Circle Punches, Ice Circle Rhinestone Brads, Melon Mambo Polka Dotted Ribbon, Stampin' Dimensionals, Sticky Strip

Make sure to check out the Curtain Call Color Challenge Act 1 while you're here. Thanks for stopping by!

Good Works

It's Monday, and that means it's Monday MOJO time! For today's challenge, Monday MOJO Week #97, I made this card and paired it up with the colors from the Splitcoaststampers Color Challenge #229. The colors for the challenge are Certainly Celery, Pixie Pink, Apricot Appeal, and Neutrals of you choice. For neutrals, I chose Whisper White & Basic Gray.

I inked up the Inspired by Nature daisy image using sponge daubers and classic ink. The image was stamped on the white circle and then stamped again on scrap, hand-cut, and placed over with a dimensional.

Stamps: Inspired by Nature
Paper: Pixie Pink, Certainly Celery, Apricot Appeal, Whisper White CS, Cottage Wall DSP
Ink: Pixie Pink, Certainly Celery, Apricot Appeal, Basic Gray
Other: Big Shot, Circle Scallop #2, Texturz Plates Backgrounds, Photo Corner Punch, 4/8" Neutrals Jumbo Brads, Mat Pack & Paper Piercing Tool, Sponge Daubers, Stampin' Dimensionals
